SENGOKU: ROAD TO UNIFICATION 1.2.0 - DESKTOP EDITION (LINUX AND WINDOWS)
Created by Heisenberg

A Free Pascal strategy game of the warring states of Japan. Lead one clan
of the Sengoku era and unite Japan by holding all 38 provinces: govern your
provinces, raise and train soldiers, make alliances, incite uprisings and
fight battles on a hex field. It is drawn on a 640 x 400 retro screen in
16 colours, with an original tune on the Japanese five-note scale.

INSTALL
  Linux: sudo apt install ./sengoku_1.2.0_amd64.deb
Then select Sengoku from the Games application menu, or run:
             sengoku
Windows: run Sengoku-1.2.0-x64.msi (per user, no administrator rights
           needed). See README-WINDOWS.txt.

The desktop edition is for one player; the computer leads the other clans.
Multi-Player games, with other people online, are played in the browser
edition at https://games.theiguru.au/sengoku/

START
On the title screen choose New campaign: pick the 1560 or 1582 scenario,
a clan and how fierce your rivals are (Gentle to Ruthless). Quick start
begins at once as Oda Nomura in 1560.
Click a province, or move with the arrow keys; Tab steps through your
own provinces. Press 1-9 for the orders on screen: Govern, Military,
Diplomacy, Provinces, Chronicle, Settings, Help, Campaign and End month.
Only End month advances time. Alt+Enter switches to full screen.

Full guide: docs/PLAYER.txt (Linux: /usr/share/doc/sengoku/PLAYER.txt);
7 Help in the game shows the same rules.
docs/RELEASE.txt lists what is new.

Saves: five slots, and an autosave written at the end of every month
(Continue on the title screen picks it up), in the "saves" folder of
  Linux: ~/.config/Sengoku - Road to Unification/
  Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Sengoku - Road to Unification\
with music settings in options.ini beside it. Saves are in format 3, the
same text format as the browser edition; saves from earlier releases
(formats 1 and 2) still load. Export to a file (the last item of
Campaign > Save) writes the campaign to a .sav file anywhere; Import from
a file (the last item of Campaign > Load) opens one. The browser edition
opens these files and exports the same kind, so a campaign can move
between the browser and the desktop.
